Asura is a LIVE band based out of Mysore, Karnataka. The groove metal band believes their music is an effort to bring ancient Indian classical melodies and rhythms in the context of metal music. Hailing from a musical background, the members had some classical music training at the early stages of their lives.&nbsp;Three of the members were trained in Indian music during childhood in Carnatic vocals and mridangam, a South Indian percussion instrument. Their influences include metal bands and artists like Lamb of God, As I Lay Dying, After The Burial, Animals as Leaders, Tesseract, Textures, etc. Being influenced by different genres of music, the band hopes to work for the creation of a blend of these styles of music.
