Hemant Brijwasi, born in 1997 or 1998 in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, hails from a musically gifted family—his father, Hukumchand, and his three brothers also sing professionally. At just eleven, he won Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs on Zee TV in 2009, astonishing mentors and audiences with his classical and Sufi-infused renditions.Undeterred by later setbacks in Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar 2 and India’s Got Talent, Hemant returned triumphantly six years later to win Rising Star 2 in April 2018—securing around 83% of public votes in the finale with his powerful version of “Alvida.”He has lent his voice to Bollywood projects such as Soorma (2018), Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019), and the animated Arjun: The Warrior Prince (2012). In recognition of his rising impact, he was honored with the Lokmat Sur Jyotsna Award, presented by then Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.Today, Hemant continues to tour nationally, delivering powerful live performances that bridge traditional and contemporary Indian music. His warmth, humility, and vocal mastery make him not just a performer but a resonant storyteller on stage.
