Jagroop Gill is an Indian advocate, social worker, agriculturist, and politician who became a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Bathinda Urban Assembly Constituency on a ticket from the Aam Aadmi Party in 2022.He grew up in a middle-class family in Bathinda.Jagroop joined the Indian National Congress in the 1970s.Gill has been a councillor of the Bathinda Municipal Corporation for six consecutive terms, i.e., 1979, 1989, 1992, 1997, 2008, and 2015.In 2020, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Bathinda District Planning Board. However, the post went to Raman Goyal, which apparently became the reason for Jagroop quitting the Indian National Congress in August 2021.
